Lea Lea Women’s Club 

Board Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Jayne Williams at 2:30pm at Jayne’s home.

In attendance: Jayne Williams, Jo Quinn, Randi Wilson, Laura Miller and Sandy Mackey.

Old Business:

Minutes were reviewed from the previous Board Meeting, held on 1/13/2025.

Sandy Mackey moved to approve, and Jayne seconded the motion to approve the minutes.

Treasurer’s Report:

Jo Quinn presented the financial report with a beginning cash balance of $740.30.

We discussed the need to increase the yearly budget for the Club Championship Tournament fund from $300 to $400, since there is no upfront cost to players for that tournament. Randi made the motion to increase it $100 and Jayne seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

We discussed changing the wording of the budget item “Computer Software” to “Website Fees,” to clarify the Treasurer’s report. The possibility of eliminating our PO Box for 2027 was discussed, which could save the group $200 per calendar year. 

Based upon our expenses and income, a decision was made to raise the cost of the Lea Lea Dues to $100 per year.  $30 of this fee covers individual Ghin dues for each member.  Jayne moved to approve and Laura seconded the motion to set 2026 dues at $100 per member. The motion passed unanimously.

Jayne made a motion to approve, and Randi seconded the motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report. The motion passed unanimously.

New Business:

Jayne Williams discussed that we would have the Pick a Partner tournament at Makani Golf Club, on Thursday, 1/29/26, with lunch afterward at the Harbor House. Makani is giving us a great rate for our tee times of $70 plus tax.

Dates for 2026 tournaments and Chairs:

The Eclectic Tournament will be held Tuesday, 1/13/26 and Thursday, 1/15/26 at Kona County Club. Chairs Julie Adolf and Sharon Long.

Pick a Partner Tournament 1/29/26 at Makani Golf Club. Chairs Jayne Williams and Pam Miller.

Club Championship Tournament Tuesday, 2/17/26 and Thursday, 2/19/26 at Kona Country Club. Chairs Sara Ito and Randi Wilson

Ace of Aces Tournament Thursday, 3/5/26 at Kona Country Club. Chair Randi Wilson.

Lea Lea Luncheon- Friday, 3/6/26 Chair, Pam Miller

Sandy Mackey reported that she is having difficulty with the Lea Lea website, and that it is still not easy to upload documents and make changes. The upcoming tournaments didn’t make it onto the site, and Sandy will add that information. There was discussion about not using Paani for communication since some people are not receiving the emails. This matter was tabled for future discussion. Jayne will look into possible alternatives for our group and report back

Sandy moved, and Randi seconded to adjourn the meeting at 4 pm.
