Board Meeting
January 17, 2024
The meeting was called to order at 10:09 am at Sandy Mackey’s home.
In attendance were: Sandy Mackey, Laura Miller, Julie Adolf, Sara Ito, Jayne Williams, Jo Quinn, Judy Burger and Randi Wilson.
Old Business:
Sandy read the minutes from the general meeting on September 18,2023. Jayne moved to approve and Sara seconded the motion to approve the minutes . The motion passed
unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report:
Judy Burger, as treasurer, gave the Lea Lea 2024 Budget. Income balance in checking for 29 Memberships and 25 Ace Entries total $2570.00 Expenses total $3968.00.
Ghin fees @ $30 each $870, PO Box Charge $194, HWGA fee $50, WordPress $69, G Suite email Domain $75, Tournament Prizes $1700, Tee Packages @ $150 per tournament $900
Most Improved $50 and Ball Markers $60. We should be able to carry over $2420 into 2024. With estimated expenses, we should have no problem meeting all our obligations and have approximately $377 left over. Treasurer’s report accepted unanimously
There was discussion about whether the Tournament Chair can purchase the Tee Packets from their own money if they so desire and request not to be paid back. It was said that perhaps they should turn in receipts and request that they don’t want to be paid back instead of not turning receipts in so we have a record of what was purchased.

New Business:
Hole in One Payout
Discussion to raise payout from $5.00 per member to $10 per member to pay for drinks.
Judy moved to approve raising the pay out to $10 per member and Randi seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
Lifetime Memberships
Discussion to set Lifetime Memberships at the age of 85 for those who reach that age and have been in Lea Lea 10 years. Lea Lea club dues would be waived.The vote passed unanimously.

- Pick a Partner -Jayne Williams, Pam Miller 1/25
- Lea Lea Cup- Myrna Fant, Diane Ilstrup 2/8
- Club Championship- Sara Ito, Randi Wilson 2/20, 2/22
- Ace of Aces – Randy Wilson (Defending Champion)
Sandy has separate envelopes with guidelines on how to run each of the tournaments.
Other Business:
Discussion by Sandy to move the Yearly Luncheon from 3/6 to 3/4. Decided that would be better.
There is a new roster Update put together by Sara.
Election 2024 update:
It was decided that Jayne Williams will write an email to all Members asking for active Lea Lea members to consider running for our Board of Directors. Several of our board members have been serving diligently for many years and would like to see others get involved and serve in these positions.With the exception of Treasurer, it is not necessary that Board members live in Kona full time. A second email was sent with a copy of the duties of the Officers in the By Laws.
Jayne and Sandy will respond to the emails if someone desires a position
Website:
Discussion about Website and how we could try to simplify the Website and the work needed on it and who can help and do what.
Sara agreed to do the roster this year and keep it updated.
Sandy agreed to learn and work on Paani email.
There was discussion to add Tournament overseer to the Vice President as well as Handicap duties.
Also discussed was adding the Membership Chair duties to the Treasurer position.
Jayne motioned to adjourn the meeting at 12:32 pm. Randy seconded. Meeting adjourned.
