Lea Lea Women’s General Meeting and Luncheon

 

The Meeting was called to order at 11:45am by Sandy Mackey at the Kanaloa Outdoor Pool Enclosure.

In Attendance were  Randi Wilson, Laura Miller, Julie Adolf, Judy Burger, Sandy Mackey, Jayne Williams,Sara Ito, Jo Quinn, Pam Miller, Jeanene Dickenson, Penny Knowles, Jenny Jones, Pat Ingoglia, and Diane Ilstrup.

 

Sandy Mackey started with old business .

 

The General Meeting minutes from March 1, 2023 were read by Secretary, Laura Miller for approval.

Jayne Williams moved and Pam Miller seconded to approve the minutes. The motion passed unanimously.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Judy Burger, as treasurer, reported that our bank balance as of Jan 31, 2024. Is $3003. Checks written yet but not cleared are $1717. ‘Hole in One $345, Hometown Tourney $300, Ball Markers $75 and Most Improved Award $50 are expenses yet to be paid, leaving us with a balance of $516. Julie Adolf moved and Randy seconded to approve the Treasurer’s Report. The motion passed unanimously.

 

New Business:

Sandy Mackey showed us new packets with information for each of our tournaments to make it easy for Chairs to run the tournaments.

Sand Mackey asked the Chairs to talk about each tournament.

Julie Adolf Eclectic tournament Chair said the tournament went really well. There was a change of days because of the weather.  Overall Low Gross winner was Laurie Hillyard.Many other winners by flight both for low net and  a most improved winner. Jayne Williams, our Pick a Partner tournament chair, said that we had a great tournament and Laurie Hillyard and Myrna Fant came in first. Diana Ilstup, our Lea Lea Cup tournament chair, reported that the Blue Birdie team won. There was a bit of confusion on the Chapman game and we will assess if we should change the game. Randi Wilson, our Club Championship tournament Chair, said it was a very good tournament. Sara Ito won the Club Champion. There were 3 flights and 3 flight winners. Randi Wilson Ace of Aces tournament Chair reported the names of the monthly winners. Jo Quinn won the tournament for 2024 and will run the tournament in 2025.Each participant receives $15. Mary Anne Adame said she wants to contribute her $15. Randi will use it for next Lea Lea game.Sandy Mackey the Hometown Tourney chair said the tournament was a lot of fun and they had it in November 2023. Fletcher Olson came in first, Laura Miller second, Jo Quinn third and Pualani 4th.

 

Tournament Questions or comments:

Julie Adolf suggested perhaps we should eliminate the Lea Lea Cup Tournament. 

Sandy Smackey said it is a hard tournament to run as is.

Jo Quinn suggested that perhaps we run it as a scramble. Many like the idea

Judy Burger suggested we have the Hometown tournament at Makani.

Sara Ito motioned that the board decide on the tournament details on Lea Lea Cup and Hometown Tourney. Pat Ingoglia seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

  7. Lea Lea Luncheon – March 5 -Pam Miller

Pat motioned to accept the slate of officers and Rita seconded the motion.The motion passed unanimously.

 

Presentation:

Pam Miller received a gift for Hosting at Kanaloa.

Sara Ito received an orchid to thank her for all the years on the Board.

Judy Burger received an orchid for her years of service as the Treasurer. 

All on the board received plants and roses.

Jayne thanked Sandy Mackey for all her years as President.

Questions/ Comment: None. 

 

Jayne Williams motioned for adjournment at 12:45 pm, motion was seconded, and meeting was adjourned at 12:45.
