Old Business:

  1. Approval of March 4 General MeetingRandi Wilson reviewed the minutes of the last general meeting on March 4th, 2020 for approval. Mary Pat Gannon moved to approve, Sara Ito 2nd. Minutes approved.
  2. Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Judy Burger didn’t feel it was appropriate to discuss our finances in the public setting we were in, so she suggested any member who has questions reach out to her individually. Janice asked how the board budgets for tournaments, Sandy clarified that we have all tournament payouts from club fees pre-budgeted and approved at the beginning of each tournament season. Judy said that she can provide this budget to her and any interested member. Fletcher asked if the club does a payout for a hole-in-one, Sandy stated $5 per current member is paid to a hole-in-one, therefore a slight overage needs to be kept for events such as this. Julie Adolf motioned to approve, Randi Wilson 2nd.

New Business:

  1. Website/Rules: Sandy clarified for the group that we post everything on our website that Sara works hard to keep up for our access. She would like to encourage every member to review the website in complete detail and please send any questions to her. Sara also clarified this point and encouraged questions and website review.
  2. Discussion on Net Double Bogey rule: Sandy reminded the group that we are nearing the end of our trial period for implementing the USGAs Net Double Bogey rule for play days, coinciding with the posting rules for member handicaps. Sandy suggested that we have a discussion first to ensure members understand the rule and ensure we all feel it is fair. Julie Adolf motioned to permanently adopt this rule for our club, Mary Pat Gannon 2nd – motion passed and Net Double Bogey will now be a permanent club rule.

Tournaments 2021: Sandy recognized this years tournament chairs and thanked them for their time and efforts in these tournaments. The last remaining tournament is the Ace of Aces tournament for 2021.

Most Improved Award: Sara Ito handed out the Most Improved Golfer award for the last year, which was awarded to Kacey Coyle.

Proposed Slate of Officers/Elections: Sandy opened up discussion for nominations of potential new officers for the board of directors. Suzanne Skeeters asked if there is somewhere that job/officer position descriptions are posted, Sara will be checking on the website to ensure description availability for future interested candidates. Judy provided the description of her job as treasurer, and Suzanne stated her willingness to be nominated for this position. Judy nominated Suzanne Skeeters for Treasurer with willingness to train and assist whenever needed. Fletcher Olson seconded. No other new nominations made. Julie Adolf motioned to approve the slate of officers for 2021 as stated directly below, Jayne Williams seconded.

President: Sandy Mackey
Vice President: Janet Ford
Secretary: Kacey Coyle
Treasurer: Suzanne Skeeters
Website: Sara Ito
Day’s Play Chairman: Tuesday: Jayne Williams Thursday: Mary Pat Gannon
Special Tournaments: Janet Ford

Thank you’s: Sandy expressed her desire to save thanks to the board members and club members until Thursday afternoon after the end of the Club Championship. She stated that the club is paying for 2 drinks for each member as a thank you – the members who will be attending the celebration on the Hula Kai boat cruise will receive their drinks there, other members awarded after days play.

Questions/Concerns: Janice Magno asked when the membership calendar officially runs. Sandy stated it is January 1-December 31st officially. If a member joins after June of the membership calendar year, dues are prorated appropriately as they would not be involved in tournaments, etc.

Sandy stated that the new Ace of Ace’s dues will be required prior to starting the new year March 3rd. Many members paid Judy/Suzanne for the new year the $10 entry at this time.

Fletcher Olson motioned to adjourn the meeting at 1:36 pm, Beverly Jefferson seconded. Meeting adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,
Kacey Coyle
Secretary
