Lea Lea Women’s Golf Club
Board Meeting
March 15th, 2021
The meeting was called to order at 9:10 am by President Sandy Mackey at her home.
In attendance were: Kacey Coyle, Jayne Williams, Sara Ito, Pualani Willing, Janet Ford, Sandy Mackey, Suzanne Skeeters
Approval of minutes of last meeting: Meeting minutes reviewed by Secretary Kacey Coyle, Sara Ito moved to accept, Jayne WIlliams seconded.
Treasurer’s report did not take place as Judy not present due to surgery. New Treasurer Suzanne is finding a time to meet with Judy separately in the coming weeks to get up to speed on the new position.
Old business:
- Review of tournaments with Janet
- Eclectic: everyone agreed this went well and no proposed changes
- Janet stated that running her first tournament it was a bit confusing to see what the budget was and how it was involved, and it’s okay to do your own thing but stay within the budget. She is going to redo the spreadsheets to make it more simple and available. Also liked paying out right away instead of waiting until the general meeting.
- Sara brought up some comments from members regarding there being a misunderstanding of how our dues go into tournament budget. Suzanne suggested when we post the tournament announcement and rules, we should also include the budget with each.
- Pick a Partner: everything went great and no discussed changes.
- Lea Lea Cup: the board thought it was the best ever as it was presented in all of the correct formats, there wasn’t much confusion from members and everyone had a lot of fun!
- Club championship also went well, discussion of how we played in flighted 4/5 somes and how it worked well to stay playing with your same flight to know where you are at in competition on day 2.
- Ace of Aces went well with Nancy Watanabe
- Eclectic: everyone agreed this went well and no proposed changes
- Website: Sandy suggested putting the latest board meeting first on the list. Sandy would like to post descriptions of what each elected officers job is. Bylaws should be posted on the website
New Business
- Officially welcomed officers for 2021-2022
- President – Sandy Mackey

- Website, Hdcp/Rules – Sara Ito
- Day’s Play- Jayne Williams (Tuesday), Mary Pat Gannon (Thursday)
- Special Tournaments – Janet Ford
- Set dates/chairman for Tournament Season 2022
- Eclectic – January 11th and 13th, $15 – Janet
- Pick a Partner – January 27th, $15 – Jayne Williams
- Lea Lea Cup – February 8th and 10th, $15 – Kacey and Randi
- Club Championship – February 22nd and 24th – Sara Ito
- Ace of Aces – March 1st, $10 (prior to starting the new season) – Mary Pat Gannon
- Group Luncheon – Wednesday March 2nd – tentatively plan for Pam to host at Kanaloa again pending Covid restrictions being lifted
- Elections will maintain at a luncheon/General Meeting and recap of tournament season and winners
- Janet Made motion to pay out after each tournament immediately after for 2022+ rather than at the General Meeting, Sara seconded. Motion passed.
Other business:
- Raising Dues: in discussion because it has been several years since dues were raised. GHIN fees have increased over time to now $25/year/player with no dues increase. There is a hole-in-one fund that is always present and therefore we need to keep a bit of money in the Lea Lea account, which is a $5/member payout when a member gets a hole-in-one! Janet proposed to raise dues to $80 starting 2022 season to ensure a comfortable budget and not put the club in a position to not be able to pay out if necessary. Kacey seconded, motion passed.
- Suzanne suggested to please notify the paani email of updates when new things are posted on the website to bring member attention to any new postings or material.
Janet motioned to adjourn the meeting at 10:15 am, Jayne seconded. Meeting adjourned.
