General Meeting
March 2, 2022
The meeting was called to order at 11:41 am by President Sandy Mackey at the Kanaloa Outdoor Pool Enclosure.
In attendance: Janet Ford, Sally Mackey, Myrna Fant, Mary Pat Gannon, Sara Ito, Judy Burger, Jayne Williams, Jo Quinn, Laura Miller, Laura Brownlee, Pam Miller, Diane Ilstrup, Amy Rosato, Julie Adolf, Randi Wilson, Sally Wamba, Jeanene Dickenson, Pat Ingoglia, Linda Nauman, and Cleo Cohen.
Sandy opened with thanking Pam Miller for the use of their wonderful facility.
Old Business:
Sandy introduced Myrna Fant as Acting Secretary who read the minutes from the previous year’s General Meeting.
Approval of the February 23, 2021, General Meeting minutes were read by Myrna for approval.
Janet Ford moved and Cleo Cohen seconded to approve the minutes. The motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Sitting in (for Suzanne Skeeters who vacated the position January 17, 2022) was Judy Burger who indicated the checking account balance was $4,026.41. But as of the last Board of Director’s meeting the current balance is $2,672.44 Some of the expenses were for GHIN, Hole in One ($5 per person of membership) Hometown Tournament $300 budget, Most Improved and after these expenses the estimated balance will be $1,432.44. Tournament Budgets may be adjusted for 2023 after the next Board of Directors meeting in March. Sandy asked for approval and Jayne Williams moved and Pam Miller seconded to approve the Treasurer’s Report. The motion passed unanimously.
Sandy thanked the membership for adhering to the Vaccination Policy and that the policy will remain in effect at the moment. The BOD will meet and make adjustments to the policy in the future if it is warranted. Mary Pat and Jeanene thanked the BOD for making a decision. Judy mentioned that Peggy Ciriako (Kona Country Club Manager) was grateful that our Club made a policy. Amy suggested keeping the policy in place even when the Safe Travel changes. Discussion continued.
New Business:
Tournaments 2022: Sandy asked the Chairs to talk about each tournament. Janet discussed Ecletic and listed all of the winners, Jayne discussed that Pick a Partner had 30 players. Randi Wilson talked about the Lea Lea and enjoying the different formats. Sara discussed Club Championship with all GROSS winners, more than ½ field was awarded. Mary Pat discussed Ace of Aces which had 13 players—Sandy Mackey was the Ace of Aces Tournament Winner for 2022. As of today chip in your $10 to compete in next year’s Ace Tournament. As winner, Sandy Mackey will Chair this tournament next year. Sara informed the membership about letting her know of any “low nets” to be added to the month. Randi suggested using an ACE ball on any par 3 holes—just in case it’s a Hole-In-One.

Sandy asked for a motion. Mary Pat moved and Julie seconded to approve new calendar dates. The motion passed unanimously.
Most Improved Award: Sara talked about the HSWGA keeps track of everyone’s handicaps. Sara also awarded this year’s recipient to Laura Miller.

Randi moved and Pam seconded to accept the new Board of Directors as mentioned above. The motion passed unanimously.
Sandy personally thanked the new BOD and thanked Pam for all she does behind the scenes to make this facility available to Lea Lea. Sandy handed out bottles of Prosecco to the new BOD, she also handed out roses to Tournament Chairs. Judy thanked Sandy for all her hard work as President.
Questions/Comments: There being none, Diane moved and Janet seconded to adjourn the meeting.
